Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PDFUS ("Service", "we", "us") at pdf-us.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by Georgy Shchelkanov (autónomo, Spain). Contact: privacy@pdf-us.com.
2. Service Description
PDFUS provides browser-based PDF tools including editing, compressing, merging, splitting, rotating, and converting PDF files. All file processing happens locally in your browser — your files are never uploaded to our servers.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account using a valid email address to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be at least 16 years old to register.
4. Free Plan Limitations
The free plan includes the following limits per operation:
- Compress PDF: files up to 5 MB
- Merge PDF: up to 3 files per merge
- Split PDF: documents up to 10 pages
- JPG to PDF: up to 5 images
- PDF to JPG: up to 5 pages
- Rotate PDF: up to 10 pages
- Protect / Unlock / Watermark / Page Numbers: 1 free use per tool, then Pro required
5. Pro Subscription
The Pro plan removes all free-tier limits and is available for $9.00 per month (billed monthly) or $69.00 per year (billed annually, ~$5.75/mo).
- Billing: Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. You authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via the Settings menu in the app (⚙ button). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access to Pro features continues until then. Cancellation is as easy as sign-up — no hoops, no phone calls.
- Refunds: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee from the date of your first charge. To request a refund, email privacy@pdf-us.com within 7 days of payment. After 7 days, charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
- EU Consumers — Right of Withdrawal: Under EU consumer law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from digital service purchases. By starting your Pro subscription and accessing Pro features immediately, you explicitly request that the service begins before the withdrawal period expires and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has begun. Your 7-day refund right (above) applies regardless.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
- Attempt to circumvent free-tier limits or abuse the Service.
- Upload or process content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Georgy Shchelkanov. You retain full ownership of all PDF files and documents you process. We claim no rights over your content. We do not store, access, or analyse your files — processing happens entirely in your browser.
8. Client-Side Processing Disclaimer
All PDF operations are performed locally in your browser using JavaScript. While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we cannot guarantee that all PDF files will be processed without error, particularly complex or password-protected documents. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from browser crashes, power failures, or other events outside our control.
We strongly recommend keeping a backup of your original files before processing.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Georgy Shchelkanov shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may delete your account by contacting privacy@pdf-us.com. Upon termination, your access to Pro features (if applicable) ends at the close of the current billing period.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid, Spain, except where mandatory local consumer protection laws apply.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
